Amazing Provision

We still don't have a home nor a job, but there is much to celebrate this last day of July. We have received all the funds necessary to be fully reimbursed for our travel expenses! We are so grateful and thankful for God's provision. Thank you to ALL of you who gave and responded to the Lord's leading. THANK YOU!!!!!

As far a future plans go..... we remain at a stand still. Application have been sent in for jobs from Charlotte to Asheville to California. We have heard nothing. Also getting out of the basement is proving difficult. Keep praying.

Season Finale - Last Newsletter

Listro News

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.  Prov 19:21
Season Finale         July 2012

We are so thankful to all of you who have given. Your faithfulness and generosity are overwhelming, and have allowed to receive our paycheck these last three months while we look for a new job. This is a huge provision from the Lord. We are still hoping to receive enough to cover our unreimbursed expenses, approximately $3,000. If you want to help we can still receive donations at SAM through the end of July. (These funds are for travel expenses that we have already paid out of our pocket and need money in our account at SAM to be reimbursed.)

I would love to say that this season of our life will culminate in a tidy heroic ending, where our family rides off into the sunset with a wonderful new job and home waiting for us on the other-side - but that is not our reality. We seem to be living more of a messy-cliffhanger. Starting over has been much more frustrating than we had imagined. We have contacted many people and companies about jobs and housing options. After two and a half months we have still not received one concrete yes or no. Things are very up in the air but we continue to seek the Lord and work hard at uncovering the new life he has in store for us.

This is not how we would have scripted our story, nor the ending to our chapter on the mission field - but I am thankful that the author our story  is good and trustworthy. We continue to walk in faith having no clear vision of where God is leading us. We are beginning to understand that faithful obedience and simply following is of greater value to the Lord than clear vision. We urge you to continue to pray for all of us - that the 7 of us will know the Lord more each day and glorify him in all we do - wherever we may be.

We will be sending no further newsletters.  Again, we thank you for your love, friendship and support.

Holding on tightly while walking in faith with thankful hearts,
The Listros

Donate through July

God has provided for our paycheck over the last 3 months and we are trusting he will provide the funds to cover our recent travel expenses back from Peru. We still need about $3000. If you would like to donate follow the link to our page on the SAM website and find the "Donate" link in the lower right hand margin. We can receive donations through the end of July.

If you you give to our ministry via automatic withdrawl, please contact the office, 803-802-8580, to cancel your pledge.

Back to the Blog

Well, I just went to check something on our website and it wasn't there. Thelistros.com is gone. The domain name was a gift from a partnering church and I guess the lease is up. So what exactly does that mean? The most frustrating thing is that every post I made on the site is not here and you can't look back and read what has gone before...I can't either. I wonder if this is symbolic. In Isaiah God tells Israel not to think about the past. He is doing something new and to look towards that. So we look forward. I am preparing our final update to mail out.Really, the last last one. Bittersweet.
